POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintains and repairs a variety of radiology, diagnostic imaging and related  equipment in addition to typical clinical equipment.   Effectively communicates with department heads, administrators, physicians, service organizations, vendors and all levels of staff in client facilities to consult and advise, resolve problems and educate.

DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

·   E   Maintains and repairs a variety of radiology, diagnostic imaging and related equipment.

·   E   Performs Quality Assurance and Safety tests.

·   E   Creates the necessary records to document preventive maintenance, quality assurance,safety tests, upgrades and repairs.

·   E   Provides customer service.

SUPERVISION:

All radiology equipment vendors.

·         QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

·         ASA Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related field or related experience.

Experience:

·         Six (6) or more years in the field of Biomedical equipment maintenance and repair with four (4) years in the specialization of radiographic imaging equipment.

Certification and Licensure:

·         CRES preferred.

Skills

·         Ability to use a variety of very delicate to heavy duty tools and instruments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Ability to stand, walk, bend and kneel in limited areas.  Ability to climb and work from ladders, reach and twist, frequent moderate lifting.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

·         Work may be performed in various working conditions including wet/humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, normal office conditions and in areas containing fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.

1.  Performs third echelon service on most Clinical Engineering related devices (equipment).

2.   Performs operational tests to assure calibrations according to manufacturer’s specifications.

1.   Ability to inspect and repair most Clinical Engineering related equipment to the third echelon level.

2.   Ability to perform operational tests in compliance with equipment (manufacturer’s) specifications.
